Minecraft is the best-selling title in the history of the video game industry, and it is no wonder, since the game that previously belonged to Mojang and that now owned by Microsoft, has managed to achieve incredible popularity year after year. We invite you to read our Minecraft guide for all platforms.
Maintaining one of the most extensive and nourished player communities in the entire industry, Minecraft also has its small peculiarities in terms of lore and origins.. Today we are going to talk to you about creepers, those famous enemies that explode if they are close enough to you, and whose origin is based on none other than the design of a pig.
It may surprise you, but the initial plans for the creeper resulted in an erroneous design of a piglet. Creator Markus Persson admitted that this enemy arose from a mistake of his. And in this “error”, the designer confused the height and measurements of a pig, completely reversing them and giving rise to an idea concept that has become a hallmark of the game.
“The Creepers were a mistake. I don’t have any modeling programs to make the models, I just write them in code. And I accidentally made them tall instead of long, so it was like a tall thing with four little feet.
Hence the initial design of what would be a pig, ended up becoming the famous creeper. A story that if you are a Minecraft fan you probably already knew, but it is not bad to remember it.
