What is happening with Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It seems that the situation in the studio is getting complicated.
There is danger for Marvel’s Phase 6. Recently, the MCU has made major adjustments to its next two phases due to writer and actor strikes. This is what has delayed the series premieres on Disney+ of Echo, Ironheart, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries and Daredevil: Born Again. A lot of superhero projects that fans are looking forward to enjoying on the streaming platform.
At the time of Marvel Studios’ Phase 5 announcement at the 2022 San Diego Comic Con, Agatha: House of Harkness was scheduled for Winter 2023 or January 2024. But the series, which will now be called Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, has been moved to fall 2024. In addition, Echo, which was originally going to premiere as the second of the six series in Phase 5 of Disney+ in summer 2023, has been moved to January 2024 and will be the third MCU series after the second season of Loki .
How is the situation of the UCM at the moment?
The four Marvel Studios live-action series premiering in Phase 5 starting in 2024 include six episodes of Ironheart, nine episodes of Agatha, 18 episodes of Daredevil, and six episodes of Echo. Additionally, all six episodes of Echo will premiere on the same day. This is something that has never happened before in the MCU. With approximately 34 weeks of content releases between the series, it seems unlikely that they will all arrive on Disney+ in 2024. Especially, with production on Daredevil: Born Again incomplete and on hold for now.
Phase 6 of Comic Con had a first untitled project scheduled for fall 2024 and the premiere of Fantastic Four for November. It therefore seems likely that the final phase of the Multiverse Saga start in summer 2025, after Blade. Most expected a fall 2024 date for the Wonder Man series, which was forced to halt production and is now likely to be delayed somewhat, thus shifting the start of Marvel’s Phase 6 to late spring. or early summer of 2025. That is the great danger: a considerable and very inopportune delay.
