Director James Gunn is preparing the movie Superman: Legacy and has revealed which comic will serve as a reference.
Renowned writer and director James Gunn, known for his work on superhero films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad, has revealed an interesting influence for his upcoming film Superman: Legacy. Since the comic Superman For All Seasons has had a significant impact on the creation of his version of the Man of Steel.
Superman: Legacy is set to be the starting point of a new era for DC Comics films, with a completely revamped cast. So far, we know that David Corenswet will take on the role of Superman and Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane. However, there is still uncertainty about who will be the actors who will give life to iconic characters such as Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen.
This is how James Gunn explains it.
“I just received this incredibly beautiful Absolute Edition of Superman for All Seasons, one of my favorite Superman stories and a huge influence on Legacy (and a strangely perfect bookend to All-Star Superman). Tim Sales’ late, great artwork and Bjarne Hansen’s watercolor have never looked better, nor has Clark & Ma & Pa. Jeph Loeb’s elegant, confident story still sings.”
