Crossovers are one of the many things that make fan art very special. They normally consist of unite characters from different works of fiction in the same illustration, giving results so interesting that they may become a small dream come true for some fans. These also involve a small exercise of imagination, taking these characters to situations or places totally foreign to what one might expect.
In a work as popular as Dragon Ball we can find all kinds of crossovers, some uniting Goku with other great anime characters such as Luffy or Naruto or, like the example that stars in these lines, leading to Wolverine from the X-Men to the world of Dragon Ball having the appearance of a fierce Saiyan in an incredible illustration.
This is what Wolverine would be like if he were a Saiyan from Dragon Ball
Thomas Matheus Rodrigues (@tmatheus7) shared this gift from his Instagram account for fans of both Marvel and Akira Toriyama’s manga:
In this fan art the artist has transferred the character to a common place in Dragon Ball, sheathing Wolverine with the armor we saw the Saiyans use in the manga and transferring the character design to the recognizable aesthetic of Toriyama’s drawings. In addition, he has included the famous ape tail that this powerful race has in his version of Wolverine.
Something that is also striking in this artistic work is how well the character fits into the Dragon Ball universe and in the Saiyan race in particular. After all, Wolverine has proven on many occasions to be a seasoned warrior and many consider him lethal to many of his enemies. Without a doubt, it was a success to choose this mutant over others in the Marvel saga.
Wolverine always was one of the most beloved members of the X-Men partly thanks to how well actor Hugh Jackman portrayed him in such important feature films for the superhero genre as X-Men: Days of Future Past or Logan, a film focused almost exclusively on the iconic character.
