After many rumors, The Devil May Cry series has finally been confirmed by Adi Shankarwhich together with Netflix and Capcom has confirmed its arrival with a first advance. For those who don’t know, Shankar was in charge of the successful Castlevania anime, which will be expanded with a new series. Now, a new video game saga will receive its adaptation exclusively on the streaming giant, which for now is limited to anticipating the series “coming soon.”
The Devil May Cry series has been created by Adi Shankar, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner on the project. With animation produced by Studio MIRwho has done the same with The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood or The Legend of Korra, the series has Alex Larsen as writer, and Hideaki Itsuno of Capcom and Seung Wook Lee of Studio MIR as executive producers.
In the Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry, sinister forces will be at play to open the portal between the human and demonic realms. In the middle of everything you will find Dantean orphaned demon hunter for hire who does not know the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
The Devil May Cry series will feature eight starting episodes, being able to have continuity through more seasons. Adi Shankar has been honored that Netflix and Capcom have trusted him to adapt the saga. “Alex Larsen and I love these characters, we are part of the fandom, and we promise to surpass the exceptionally high bar we set for ourselves.”
Netflix is already working on the second season of One Piece
While new animated series are announced, Netflix is preparing the second season of One Piece, confirmed in recent days after having become one of the most watched series in recent times, to the point of surpassing records held by Stranger Things and Wednesday.
