Willem Dafoe as Vulko
They have already confirmed that Willem Dafoe’s Vulko will not be in Aquaman 2, but at least we know details of what they had planned.
Attention SPOILERS. Aquaman 2 is coming later this year and while most of the main cast members will return, one notable name will be absent: Willem Dafoe, who played Nuidis Vulko in the original film. James Wan, the director, recently confirmed the news, citing scheduling conflicts as the main reason behind his absence.
What is intriguing, however, is the original plan for the Vulko character in the DC Comics sequel. While at some point there had been speculation about the possibility of him having a tragic end in the film and based on what we have found out, those rumors were true.
The plan they had prepared.
According to MTTSH, in the original version of Aquaman 2 there was a whole subplot about a rapidly advancing virus in Atlantis and that’s what killed Vulko off-screen. But I heard that in the most recent cut they screened they removed any mention of that.

So he simply won’t be there and they may not even mention him in the final cut that will hit theaters.
Vulko’s absence means the expansion of Atlanna.
Director James Wan explained that Willem Dafoe’s absence from Aquaman 2 allowed Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) to have a larger role. Since she will become Arthur Curry’s advisor. As Arthur is an outsider to the underwater world, Atlanna plays a crucial role in helping him understand the politics and complexities of that world.

The Aquaman 2 movie will be released on December 22, 2023. At that time we will discover everything they have prepared for the long-awaited sequel to the DC Comics hero. Do you want to see the movie? Leave us your comments below in the opinion section.
