Will Alan Wake 2 be able to play at 60 fps on consoles?
As a game that would prioritize setting and graphics, Alan Wake 2 was developed with an experience locked at 30 fps in mind, without offering performance options.
However, Remedy Entertainment communications manager Thomas Puha revealed on behalf of the studio that Alan Wake 2 will have a console performance option, allowing the title to run at 60fps.
The downside is that the resolution will be lower compared to the quality mode, which will reach 4K resolution. It was not detailed what the resolution will be for Alan Wake 2 to reach 60 fps.

Another important point is that Puha only talked about the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, so apparently the Xbox Series S will only be able to run the 30 fps preset mode.
Puha did not share the table of resolutions and frame rate per second and did not define whether the game will run constantly at 60 fps or whether that will be the objective, but he assured that he will delve into this later, although he announced that the result reached with the performance mode is “solid.”
This is thanks in part to the fact that the studio’s engine, Northlight, has no problem with this, as it is capable of optimizing according to the circumstances: “lower resolution, although the game looks amazing,” Puha expressed.
