Since the premiere of the Achievement system and the user score next to the launch of Xbox 360never in history has the company been forced to delete game achievements of its platform or, at least, no case of it had been documented. Until now. Xbox has removed an achievement of a game for the first time in history or, at least, the first time that it has received so much coverage in the media.
throughout these 18 years of service activitywhich later also copied platforms such as Steam and PlayStation, we have seen many games with problems when it comes to unlocking an achievement for some kind of error or bugbut not even in those cases that have been achievements locked for years we had seen Xbox delete a logo from a game. Until today, at least
Achievement Unlocked: Remove an achievement from a game
It is an achievement of Homestead Arcana, one of the latest games to reach Xbox Game Pass, which already has the first wave of games for the month of June. As we can read through TrueAchievements, a Homstead Arcana achievement that was impossible to unlockhe would have been removed from the game and his redistributed global player score among the rest of the achievements in the game.
The achievement in question was called “You Can’t Be Too Prepared”and consisted of craft all game items, something that would take quite a lot of hours. Unless one of the green recipesit would not work properly, preventing this achievement from being unlocked.
Apparently the developers don’t have the ability to delete achievements independently, so it would have been Serenity Forge, responsible for the game, who would have contacted Microsoft to remove the achievement and reset the player score, setting a new precedent for future similar cases. We’ll see if we don’t have to take similar measures with any of the games that are presented at the Xbox Games Show case this weekend.
