A check for 30,000 dollars, approximately 28,000 euros: this is the amount that will be paid to each of the 736 players who will take part in the Women’s World Cup scheduled from 20 July to 20 August in Australia and New Zealand. Fifa announced it today.

Compared to the previous 2019 edition in France, Fifa has in fact tripled the prize pool, with 152 million dollars that will be distributed. Participating in the group stage, therefore, will guarantee each player a prize of 28,000 euros, which will increase as we progress: 56,000 euros for the round of 16, 84,000 euros for the quarter-finals, 154,000 euros for the fourth-placed 180 thousand to the third parties and then 182 thousand euros to the finalists and 252 thousand euros to the winners.

“We have taken a step towards greater gender equality at the top level of our sport,” commented the FifPro satisfied. The prize pool established by Fifa also includes a quota for the federations to be allocated to preparations (26.8 million euros) and another 10.7 million for the clubs whose players will take the field at the World Cup.
