MOSCOW – A video that went viral on Saturday (10/6/2023) shows a fierce battle in which an armored convoy Ukraine who advanced to Zaporizhzhia ran into a minefield and was crushed by the team Russia. The convoy included German-made Leopard 2A6 tanks and American-supplied Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
The video, which first appeared in Ukrainian media, was shot in the Zaporizhzhia Territory—a region that broke away from Ukraine and joined Russia—by the camera of one of the Bradleys who took part in last Wednesday’s fighting.
The location of the battle near the village of Malaya Tokmachka.
The video shows a US-supplied infantry fighting vehicle repeatedly firing into a nearby forest.
Later two other armored vehicles were seen abandoned, while another Bradley exploded while passing after hitting a mine.
Another video shows surviving Ukrainian soldiers attempting to take cover under Russian fire, while trying to create a smoke screen to cover their retreat.
Aerial footage of the same battle was previously posted by the Russian Ministry of Defense and pro-Moscow military bloggers.
The released video shows several Leopard 2A6 tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles being destroyed and abandoned.
The images are considered to be the first solid evidence of Western combat vehicles, supplied to Kyiv to support its counter-offensive, being destroyed by the Moscow military.
According to The New York Times, which verified the authenticity of the Russian Defense Ministry video, Ukraine lost at least three Leopard 2 tanks and eight Bradley fighting vehicles in the battle.
