WASHINGTON – A woman named Lyd, 22, told how she ended up in the emergency room (ER) after mistaking super glue for eye drops.
Lyd shared a series of photos to his TikTok account @icyylyd, which chronicle everything from taking the wrong glue to the painful healing process.
Lyd who is also known as an influencer shared a short video that has five million views and more than 500,000 comments, with the caption: “Read the bottle before using!”
The first image in the slideshow shows Lyd’s eyes tightly closed with the caption: “Hospital after mistaking my bottle of superglue for eye drops and blindfolding me.”
He then shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed being cared for by doctors and nurses trying various methods to open his eyes.
“They made me apply an ointment that breaks down and dissolves glue,” she wrote above a clip of rubbing cream on her eyes.
“That didn’t work so they started scraping at the glue trying to separate my eyes,” he added further.
After that didn’t work either, he said, “They took me to a private room and used a metal tool to open it and finally opened it.”
Lyd then shows pictures of his eyes afterwards and the whites of his eyes are red and yellow.
