However, now we are discovering more news about the title that has content based on Prince of Persia. Now, Ubisoft itself reveals how the title will pay homage to the original games in the saga.
Through a first developer diary, Ubisoft itself explains that Assassin’s Creed Mirage leaves behind the parkour of Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla so that exploring an urban environment like 9th century Baghdad is reminiscent of fluidity and momentum parkour. According to the developers, the game adopts an approach similar to those that Ezio starred in and features a design that is “vertically focused.” In this way, we can expect narrow streets and densely packed with obstacles.
The game will also feature various parkour abilities from previous games such as turning a corner, taking elevators to quickly reach rooftops, and jumping over objects, while the protagonist Basim, who is described as faster and more agile than Eivor, will also unlock new habilities like using a pole vault to traverse larger gaps between ceilings.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: from being a DLC to an independent game
The return of social stealth with Basim blending in with crowds or even bribing factions with “specific” tokens to control AI groups and move through protected areas undetected will be other elements reminiscent of early Assassin’s Creed, although Mirage will feature smarter enemy AI.
That being said, it does bring forward different types of enemies, though combat is Basim’s last resortwith his main focus being hunting, planning and attacking from the shadows.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the last installment in the saga before it is revolutionized through the Infinity hub. The game will come to PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC next october.
