In 1995 Twisted Metal debuted, a vehicular combat game that was characterized by its distorted style and for being a favorite of Mountain Dew and Mortal Kombat fans. Despite its popularity, the series ceased production in 2012.
However, a TV series has now been developed in Peacock, created by the team behind Deadpool and written by Cobra Kai’s Michael Jonathan Smith. Starring Anthony Mackie as an outsider who must deliver a mysterious package in a post-apocalyptic world, the series features vehicles of destruction and road hazards, including the iconic killer clown Sweet Tooth, played by professional wrestler Joe Seanoa and featuring voiced by Will Arnett, who also produces the series. This new television series is an exciting addition to the “Twisted Metal” franchise.
During Summer Game Fest, an exclusive clip was shown featuring Mackie’s Doe facing off against Sweet. In addition to Mackie, Joe and Arnett, former Brooklyn 99 star Stephanie Beatriz will also appear as Quiet, a strong and aggressive car thief. Tahj Vaughans, Chelle Ramos, Michael Carollo, Jared Bankens, Thomas Hayden-Church, Diany Rodriguez, Matthew Rimmer, and Neve Campbell are also part of the cast.
