HAWAII – Traveling around the world and fleeing many countries is the dream of most people. That dream came true for Michael Marsh.
Name a place that travelers really want to visit and that Marsh has most likely been there. In fact, she has traveled the world, and she has the photos to prove it.
“I’ve been to 56 countries, seven continents, and I’ve been to 50 countries in the United States,” he said.
Marsh’s trip to Antarctica this past March marked the last continent he had to reach to complete his goal of setting foot on every continent on earth. “It was a trip of a lifetime,” he said.
What is Marsh’s secret to traveling the world? In fact, he is not a billionaire or a wealthy person.
Marsh admits he works hard and saves money for various adventures, including to Antarctica. His final vacation in Antarctica, he treated himself to an 11-day trip aboard an expeditionary cruise to celebrate his 50th birthday.
“Antarctica is very remote. Very cold. It needs enough effort, travel time, distance, cost,” he said. “That’s exhilarating. I feel very successful with my seventh Antarctic continent flag.”
During one of the visits he made to explore the barren, snow-covered islands that dot the Antarctic Circle, he posed for pictures holding the flag.
He saw firsthand what many people only see in photographs.
