After the enormous success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the famous wall-crawler has been absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2021. However, both Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have been meeting in recent months for a new installment, which has been in development for more than a year.
However, the appearance of Tom Holland as the wall-crawler is not safe. This has been told by the British actor himself through an interview with Yahoowhere he has hinted that if the fourth film is not up to the third part, he will hang up the tights after more than 5 years playing Peter Parker.
“If we don’t find a way to compete with the movie, (My Spider-Man) will go off into the sunset.”
Although he has also commented that playing Spider-Man has made him “the luckiest kid alive”, he is also concerned that the next few films may not surpass the epicity of No Way Home. No Spider-Man has so far made more than three movies as the lead, so Holland could follow this path and let another wall-crawler land in New York.
It must be remembered that the current state of Peter Parker within the UCM is quite unique, since after the events of no way home Nobody remembers Spider-Man. And while this may sound alarming, Marvel could use another character who has risen to the fore in recent years to succeed Parker: Miles Morales. After the success of the animated films produced by Sony, it would not be unreasonable to think of the arrival of this character in a live action by Marvel Studios.
