It ends 2-1 for the Venetian team thanks to goals by Enrico Graziani and Eugenio Sacchetti. Niola’s goal was useless for the Milanese
La Fenice takes its revenge and steals the first “La Scala del calcio” trophy from La Scala. The challenge between the Venetian theater team, made up mostly of orchestra players, and that of the Milanese theater team, where administrative, technical and orchestra players play side by side, ended 2-1. The Milanese had eliminated the Venetians in the European theater tournament played on May 1 in Vicenza: this morning at San Siro, where the Venetians had never played before (and their emotion was visible), they took their revenge by beating the hosts 2-1. Goals from the cellist Enrico Graziani, doubles from the violinist Eugenio Sacchetti, then Giacomo Niola, from the Scala production organization, tried to reopen the game.
Balboni great protagonist

But the Milanese found goalkeeper Enrico Balboni on their way, first violinist of the Fenice in love with football. He was the protagonist, already appreciated during the European tournament of theaters on a par with the goalkeeper of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and that of La Scala, Andrea Vitalini, head of the historical and artistic archive of the Milanese theater and a Milan fan. “I kissed the goal posts under the south curve in honor of Maignan, but I also kissed the posts of Onana”, jokes Vitalini, soul of the Scala football group. “This match was a celebration for everyone and I hope it can be repeated next year. Maybe with a triangle. We could try to involve the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, with the islanders everything is a little more complicated”. But these teams have no intention of giving up. The charm of San Siro is also felt on the real Scala.
