At Cinemascomics we have analyzed the domestic edition on Blu-Ray of The worst neighboor in the world, a new production by Universal Pictures and Tom Hanks (Elvis), which implies entering a dramatic comedy, being an American remake that once again adapts to the big screen the novel published in 2012 entitled A Man Called Ove, written by Swedish novelist Fredrik Backman. There has already been a film adaptation through a Swedish film released in 2015 and bearing the same name as the novel, which was written and directed by Hannes Holm (Behind Blue Skies). On this occasion, the Swedish filmmaker himself is in charge of signing the script, which adapts the novel to the American public.
This drama loaded with comedy and raw emotions, with a musical theme specially composed for the film, is now on sale in stores on DVD and Blu-ray, as well as being available for rent and digital sale. The Universal Pictures film (2022) is distributed in physical format by Arvi Licensing in our country.
Along with the main protagonist, Mariana Treviño (Los Rodríguez and the Beyond), Manuel García-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), Rachel Keller (Tokyo Vice) and Cameron Britton (Mindhunter), among others, also stand out.
The film is written by David Magee (The Little Mermaid) along with the aforementioned Hannes Holm. This dramatic comedy is directed by Marc Forster, known for Quantum of Solace and World War Z, having an approximate duration of 126 minutes and is classified as not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
Synopsis:
Otto Anderson (Tom Hanks) is a very curmudgeonly widower who wants to be in control of the neighborhood in which he lives. However, when a cheerful but noisy family moves into the house across the street, Otto will have to deal with a smart and very pregnant young woman named Marisol (Mariana Treviño), with whom he will end up establishing an unlikely friendship that will alter his systematic and calculated life. .
