Felipe Melo he first cheered in the face of a rival, De La Cruz, for a lineout won when the score was still 0-0. Then, at the end of the game, addressing the opposing fans, he mimicked the gesture of the hen, pointing his finger at the audience. It should be underlined that Fluminense lost the match 2-0 and maybe the Brazilian was very agitated and angry because of that.
The reason for the hen’s gesture is to be found in an old episode when River Plate fans were given the nickname of hen/chickens following a match against Banfield in which a chicken was thrown onto the pitch.
