The popular Resident Evil video game franchise continues its efforts for live action adaptations by announcing the development of a new film, which will be titled The Umbrella Chronicles.
Although now it seems that there is a glimmer of hope with the latest productions released, in general, video game adaptations have mostly turned out to be a great disaster, something that unfortunately Resident Evil knows very well.
While CGI-animated movies have endeared themselves to fans, the films of real image have liked rather little among their followerswhere the plot rarely resembled video games (as seen in the film saga starring Mila Jovovich).

Not long ago we had Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City in theaters, a film that, although it had many nods to Capcom video games, did not excite critics and the public too much.
However, it seems that from Hollywood they do not throw in the towel and try again preparing a new resident evil live action movie. Will they be able to find the key this time?
What is known about the new Resident Evil movie
As Bloody Disgusting reports, the city of Sudbury recently received a large grant to finance a film entitled The Umbrella Chronicles.
This city has already been used precisely to record Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon Cityso not a few think that this new project is a sequel to the tape instead of another restart of the franchise.
Besides the film is also being developed by Raccoon HG Productions, the same studio that directed Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.so it is quite likely that it is a continuation in an attempt to trace this latest film saga.
The most veteran of the saga will have noticed that The Umbrella Chronicles is the same title as one of the video games derived from the franchise, which was exclusive to Wii and followed a first-person shooter style with a system of game similar a los House of the Dead.
In this game, a review was made of the key moments (and other completely new ones) from the beginning of the saga with Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen, among others. It was completed with Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, which compiled the rest of the games in the franchise prior to Resident Evil 4.
At the moment it is unknown which game (or games) The Umbrella Chronicles will adapt or if we will have Chris back, Jill and the rest of the characters from the previous installment, so we will have to wait for more details to be revealed.
