Mayor Eri Cahyadi’s plan to welcome the FIFA Matchday match between the Indonesia vs Palestine national team to be held in Surabaya received public criticism.
The public said the plan was unnecessary. So that the Garuda squad can focus on preparing for this important match.
This was expressed by netizens on social media Instagram @pssi.
“What are you doing with the parading !! PLEASE The National Team just focus on training, if you want to be paraded later when you win the world, you will be paraded around Indonesia as well as we will escort you,” wrote @abang_amazin quoted on Wednesday (7/6/2023).

The public immediately responded and supported the netizen’s proposal.
“@abang_amazing is used to imaging bro. It’s a political year. Even though it can be finished on FIFA match day if you want to do that,” netizens wrote.
“@abang_amazing red bull is acting like this again, looking for a stage for 2024,” netizens wrote.

It is known that Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi will be parading around the National Team players in the City of Heroes.

“Today the City of Surabaya is trusted again to run the FIFA Matchday Indonesia against Palestine. This is proof that Surabaya will support Palestinian independence, as what the Chairman of PSSI said,” said Eri while accompanying PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) , Tuesday (6/6/2023).
