Among all the announcements of the Summer Game Fest 2023 also appeared The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, a project in the hands of independent developer Free Range Games to be published by North Beach Games. Announced for PC, the new trailer for the creation and survival game set in the Fourth Age of the Middle Ages now confirms versions for PS5 and Xbox Series that will also arrive in autumn 2023.
The iconic fantasy world created by JRR Tolkien returns in a game where the Dwarves embark on adventures to reclaim and restore their Homeland from the dwarves of Moria. Narrated by the actor John Rhys-DaviesGimli in the film trilogy and voice of Treebeard, the new gameplay trailer honors the renowned courage and camaraderie of the Dwarves as they delve into the cavernous Mines of Moria, where crucial resources for crafting and construction can be gathered.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will allow you to forge powerful weapons and armor As the dwarves enter the dangers of darkness. Before, the players must create your own custom Dwarf for your journey alone or online with companions, highlighting that each new adventure will be unique through the use of procedurally generated environments.

Gollum not convention
It remains to be seen if The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria convinces the players. For now, the creators of the Gollum game have apologized for the result of a title that even breaks and can’t be finished, leaving the players waiting for updates that solve the serious problems with which the work has been released. Luckily, Free Range Games seems to be working on a better proposal.
