On July 7th, Taylor Swift will premiere “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)”a re-recording of their 2010 album “Speak Now” that includes six bonus tracks and features with Hayley Williams and Fall Out Boy.
The idea to re-record her first six albums arose from Scooter Braun acquiring the rights to Taylor Swift’s original recordings; therefore, the singer is re-launching the hits of the first eleven years of her career so that Braun does not benefit from it.
The re-recordings consist of releasing songs that are the same as the originals, where a better production and a “more mature” voice are perceived, but mostly without altering the original product.
Therefore, it is expected that on July 7 when “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” is released, Taylor Swift will re-release the song “Better Than Revenge” which has been criticized by many and considered “misogynistic”.

What is “Better Than Revenge” about?
“Better Than Revenge” is inspired by Taylor Swift’s brief relationship with Joe Jonas. The song is dedicated to Camilla Belle, who was a partner of Joe Jonas after he broke up with Swift.
“Better Than Revenge” has currently been criticized because it broadly attacks the actress for “stealing her boyfriend.” Undoubtedly one of the most controversial lines of the song is “She’s not a saint, she’s not what you think, she’s an actress. She’s best known for the things she does on the mattress.”
Although when it was released almost 15 years ago it was not considered controversial, Taylor Swift fans believe that when it is released again this year it could generate controversy due to today’s standards, and could be accused of slut-shaming.
Fans have wondered on social media if Taylor Swift will change the song’s lyrics when it’s released again.
Years after having released said song, Taylor publicly apologized and explained that after she matured, she understood that “a person cannot steal your boyfriend if he is not willing to leave.”
