who would say that John Carpenter, the legendary horror film director, would be making a video game. Well yes, and it is also a complete pass. It’s one of the big surprises we’ve seen at Summer Game Fest, the event hosted by Geoff Keighley (recap here).
Do you love zombie movies? Do you enjoy the eighties B series? If you meet both conditions, then the following game will make you vibrate like no other.
John Carpenternext to Saber Interactive y Focus, present Toxic Commando. It’s a bloody, frenetic cooperative FPS infested with the undead… to say the least.
It is very reminiscent of the Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood proposal, but Toxic Commando has something that those titles did not have: eighties terror from the hand of John Carpenter.
What we’ve seen at Summer Game Fest is a complete marvel. Toxic Commando is scheduled to launch sometime in 2024, available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S. Who wants to try it?
A B with pride
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando es a frantic and brutal first person shooter, developed by Saber Interactive, and under the supervision of the veteran director. If you remember, Carpenter is the director of works like Halloween, The Thing or The Fog.
The experience of the director, together with the good work of Saber (who already has experience with zombie games), result in this great Cooperative FPS.
We don’t know much about him. It seems that the story will revolve around the Toxic Command, made up of mercenaries who will run into incessant hordes of zombies.
Do you remember John Carpenter’s Vampires? Well, Toxic Commando looks a lot like the 1998 moviesince it offers action in abundance, a lot of blood, and a black humor, usual in the filmography of John Carpenter.
If you missed the Left 4 Dead proposal, John’s Carpenter Toxic Commando plans to conquer you based on eighties music (the great song of the trailer is brutal)lots of action and homages to horror movies.
We will face all kinds of abominations, from run-of-the-mill zombies to massive biohazards. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of arsenal to get rid of them.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando looks very, very good. From the hand of the veteran horror film director, Saber Interactive and Focus will launch this cooperative FPS on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC, in 2024.
