Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong said he crossed out defender Sandy Walsh from the list of players to be prepared against Palestine in the FIFA Match Day friendly match which will be held at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, 14 June.
Sandy Walsh was dropped due to a calf injury. However, Shin hopes that the right-back who plays in Belgium will be fit again when Indonesia hosts the 2022 World Cup champions, Argentina in Jakarta on June 19.
“His injury is in the calf. My coaching team and I are trying so that he can take part in the next match (against Argentina),” said Shin in Surabaya, Saturday night (10/6/2023).
Sandy experienced a problem with his leg during training at Thor’s Field on Wednesday (7/6/2023) afternoon. Since then, Sandy has been practicing separately from his colleagues.

“In my mind, Sandy is the first line-up, but how else can it not be included,” said Shin.
Meanwhile, the Manager of the Indonesian National Team, Sumardji, had previously confirmed that the problems experienced by Sandy Walsh could still be handled by a team of doctors.
“As for the results of the MRI, there is indeed a slight injury, it can still be treated,” said the middle-ranking officer of the National Police.
Sandy himself is still practicing, although he is separated from the other team members. He did light exercises on the sidelines with one of the officials.
Sandy Walsh has actually been waiting for his debut with the Indonesian national team, especially when he competed in his grandfather’s hometown, Surabaya. He had hoped that his debut with the Indonesian national team could present a satisfying match for Indonesian football fans.
