What happened the next day at Budapest airport is an alarm that should not be ignored. Violent “fans” can no longer be accepted in football, the stadium cannot be a free zone and neither are places indirectly connected. But it is also a mistake for the referee and the family to end up where the violent lunatic can always be: a situation to be avoided in the future. UEFA president Ceferin has decided to invite Taylor and his family to the Champions League final: it is not compensation, but it serves to make it clear that Taylor, like any other referee involved in unpleasant situations, will be protected. And that the rumors about a stop after Rome-Seville are absolutely an invention.
