The Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi responded to the words of political observer Rocky Gerung who stated bluntly that survey institutions in Indonesia were committing deception.
Burhanuddin responded to this on his personal Twitter account. In his tweet, Burhanuddin initially highlighted Rocky Gerung, who said that initially there was only one survey institution, namely the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI), which was funded by the World Bank.
Burhanuddin also said that Rocky’s information was wrong because LSI was initially financed by JICA, not the World Bank.
“Mas @arsul_sani, there’s nothing wrong with Rocky Gerung. It’s not the World Bank that has financed @LSI_Lembaga, but JICA,” said Burhanuddin, quoted by Suara Liberte from his Twitter account @BurhanMuhtadi, Thursday (8/6).

Furthermore, Burhanuddin then alluded to Rocky’s statement, which always said that the survey institute was deceiving.
He said that not only political parties, even international institutions also requested surveys from pollsters. So, Rocky’s statement is not true.
“If the pollsters are deceiving, as Rocky said, it is impossible for parties, international institutions, etc. to ask us for a survey. Can the political elite just want to be deceived,” he said.
Burhanuddin also emphasized that the political elite should have protested to Rocky Gerung.
