Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani brought up the importance of training the political elite to have a political perspective like Soekarno’s in the PDIP National Working Meeting III.
This has led to the perception that the politician is talking about the recent rejection of Prabowo Subianto’s peace proposal by Ukraine.
Puan herself did not say explicitly about this, but she brought up the need for strategic studies related to geopolitical maneuvers, especially in creating peace, from the nation’s elites to comply with the principle of free and active.
This is so that there will be no controversy that could harm both the position and image of Indonesia in the eyes of countries in the world

“With this strategic study it is hoped that in the future, all peace initiatives will have gone through in-depth studies according to the principles of an active and free foreign policy, so as not to cause various controversies that could reduce the nation’s dignity in the international world,” he said in South Jakarta, Thursday ( 8/6/2023).
Regarding the rejection of the peace proposal by Ukraine, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Pramono Anung said this was Prabowo Subianto’s good intention.
Even though it ended in rejection, he was sure that one of the ministers only wanted to realize this nation’s mission, namely to create world peace.
“What was conveyed by the Minister of Defense in the official forum which later received responses, both from Ukraine and Russia, of course must be seen in a positive perspective. I am sure that Pak Prabowo conveyed it with good intentions,” said Pramono at Halim Perdanakusuma Airfield, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/6/2023).
