WEST BANK – The mother of a Palestinian toddler, Marwa Al-Tamimi, who died as a result of being shot dead by the Israeli army last week, demands justice. He attended his son’s funeral in the West Bank.
Reuters reported that dozens of people attended the toddler’s funeral. Marwa Al-Tamimi wins over her son for the last time. The mother kisses the body of her son for the last time.
“I want justice for my son, and for everyone who shot my husband and son to be held accountable,” she said.
Mohammad, who will be celebrating the third anniversary of his birth, was shot on Monday and suffered a head wound. He and his father were fired upon by Israeli forces near their home while driving to visit relatives.
Haitham Al-Tamimi, the father was shot in the shoulder. “When I went to check on my son, I said my son was dead. They said back off or we’ll shoot,” the mother, who was not in the car, told Reuters.
In a statement regarding the incident, the Israeli military said its soldiers responded by firing live ammunition at other targets.
“The IDF regrets harming non-combatants and is committed to doing everything to prevent such incidents,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
According to the Palestinian office for the Defense of Children International (DCIP), Al-Tamimi is one of 27 Palestinian children who have been killed by the Israeli military and Israeli settlers in the West Bank and Gaza since January.
