Karel ‘Twisten’ Ašenbrener has passed away at the age of 19. The tragedy has shaken the world of esports and the Valorant community in general. The professional player took his own life last morning.

The news jumped a few hours ago when the death of the player was reported. Apparently, as indicated by his assistant coach Harry ‘Gorilla’ Mepham, the player took his own life after being struggling with depression for some time.
During the past month of February, Twisten himself took pity to reveal that he suffered from depression and that it had led to him being hospitalized due to his self-destructive behavior a year ago. The young man has not been able to overcome his mental health problems.
A tragedy strikes Valorant
Team Vitality has shared a recent statement mourning the death of their player: We are deeply saddened by this devastating loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
The entire Team Vitality organization is devastated by this news, and we will stop all communication for the rest of the day. The team also insisted on mental health treatment, something that can hit young people in these kinds of settings.
Twisten’s career within Valorant was only going up. After going through eSuba and Entropiq, he joined BIG, where he dominated widely. Last year he joined the French organization, Team Vitality in order to participate in the VCT EMEA league.
