Former CDA MP Pieter Omtzigt from Enschede was a problem from the start of the cabinet formation in 2021 and a risk to the stability of a future cabinet, according to scouts Annemarie Jorritsma and Kajsa Ollongren. During a confidential and informal conversation with the then President of the House, they prepared for the CDA to join the cabinet, and at the same time concluded that Omtzigt’s position was untenable.
