Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been one of the great surprises of the Summer Game Fest, leaving us new (and revealing) details about Venom, several images, the editions and… the release date for PS5!
Of all the Summer Game Fest announcements, this has undoubtedly been one of the most unexpected: Bryan Intihar, director of Marvel’s Spider-Man, has taken the stage to reveal juicy details about his long-awaited sequel for PS5, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
As you will remember, the Insomniac game had a great role during the last PlayStation Showcase, closing the event with spectacular gameplay (here you have it, in case you missed it).
First of all, Brian has talked about the villains of the adventure, including Kraven the Hunter, and has revealed a detail that fans of the original have been wondering for a long time: Eddie Brock NO es Venom en Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Brian has explained that the Venom de Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It will be Insomniac’s interpretation of the character and that, to find out who is hiding under the symbiote, we will have to play. Harry Osborn, perhaps? To accompany this reveal, we also have a series of new images, including one in which Peter and Miles take on Venom in mid-air. Spectacular.
And it was not the only surprise that they had prepared for us: they have also revealed the official cover art of Marvel Spider-Man 2, which shows both Spider-Man on a red background, following the line of the art of the first. It is the same image that opens this news.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 already has a release date and editions
There was a major bombshell left! We finally know the release date: Marvel’s Spider Man 2 will be released on October 20, 2023 exclusively for PS5.
Following the announcement, the PlayStation Blog has published a post with even more details, including the various editions and pre-order extras for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Reservations will open on June 16 in all available stores. If you pre-order any edition of Marvel Spider-Man 2, you’ll get early access to the Arachknight suit for Peter in three variants, the Shadow-Spider suit for Miles in three variants, the Web Grabber gadget, and three skill points. The standard edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be priced at €79.99.
For her part, the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Digital Deluxe Edition will include the aforementioned pre-order incentives and ten costumes designed by Marvel artists who have been involved in comics, movies and games of the wall-crawler: Kris Anka, Julia Blattman, Sweeney Boo, Anthony Francisco, Raf Grassetti, Jerad Maantz, Joel Mandish, Darren Quach and Victoria Ying. It will be priced at €89.99.
But the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the Marvel Spider-Man 2 Collector’s Edition. This edition includes a key to download the digital deluxe edition, a steelbook and a figure of the fierce fight between Peter, Miles and Venom. Its price will be €249.99. Take a look below:
