The anti-theft issue is quite a dilemma, thieves are increasingly cunning and capable of picking any lock, if not cutting pins, cables or steel rings. To date, the question that must be asked, perhaps, is no longer whether or not it protects but how much effort and time we want the thief to carry out.
Here, in the case of the Lampa Stone XS, protagonist of our stress test, one was enough single hammer blow to break it in two. The Lampa is one of the smallest and lightest disc locks on the market: lThe 2.5 cm center distance makes it attachable to a few brake discsalthough the really thin pin (5.5 mm) allows it to be hooked even through the ventilation holes.
Practice the self-locking closure, which allows you to close it even without using the key. The cylinder is reinforced with an anti-drill plate, but our locksmith broke the body in two, making forcing the lock superfluous.
Included are two keys. Its best feature is therefore portability: it is extremely compact and weighs seven times less than, for example, an Abus 8008 Granit Detecto XPlus 2.0 (which we tested), one of the top of the range on the motorcycle anti-theft market.
The selling price of the Lampa Stone XS is 310 euros.
