GARUT VOICE – Persib Bobotoh frontman, Yana Umar, responded to the news that fans were banned from watching away matches.
PT LIB, as the operator of the competition, said that the ban on the presence of visiting fans was an agreement of all League 1 clubs.
The political year is one of the reasons for banning visiting fans. Especially during the campaign at the end of this year.
“We are considering implementing the 2023/24 BRI League 1 at the same time as the political year,” said PT LIB Managing Director Ferry Paulus, Saturday, June 3, 2023.

The policy was taken to smooth out licensing issues from the authorities. Last season, the matches of several League 1 clubs had stalled due to licensing issues.
In a political year, League 1 matches will coincide with campaign activities. With that in mind, the visiting fans were not given permission to come.
“Based on this custom, League 1 clubs agreed to ban visiting supporters from attending,” he said.
But the ban was met with protests from fans. One of them is the Persib Bobotoh frontman, Yana Umar.
He also questioned the policies of PSSI and PT LIB which prohibited guest supporters.

“Meuni is forbidden to watch outside the city too. How is this papih Erik Tohir (Why is it forbidden to watch outside the city as well. How is this papih Erick Thohir),” Yana Umar said in her Instagram post.
He also tagged PSSI chairman Erick Thohir in his upload.
“Bismillah to papih @erickthohir,” wrote Yana Umar.
A number of netizens also responded to Yana Umar’s upload. Many have questioned the policy which is quite detrimental for fans to support their favorite team when playing away matches.
“It’s normal if someone takes advantage of the political year, please let them know.. just obey,” said a netizen.
“Eweh away day away day weh ayena mah,” said another netizen.
“The fragility of the league is mixed with politics,” commented a netizen.
