LONDON – This is really strange news and should not be an inspiration to anyone. A husband and wife (couples) commit suicide together with their pet dog. They put their beloved dog in a suicide pact.
The couple, Cassie Collins, 35, and Francis Collins, 36, describe their beloved dog as a member of their family and soulmate. The joint suicide is considered to be a “devoted” couple who kill themselves in their home after committing a double suicide pact. Their bodies were found by a family member who was worried for them.
Not only one dog was invited to commit suicide, but three of their five pet dogs were also found dead. The suicide incident occurred in Cullompton, Devon, England, on September 11, 2021. However, the suicide pact with the beloved dog was revealed on Thursday (7/6/2023).
Shortly before, their two larger dogs were euthanized at the vet after claiming they were involved in the attack. An inquest was held into their deaths at Exeter Coronary Court, England, on Monday (5/6/2023), and heard how the couple had both struggled with challenges in their lives.
Leading up to their deaths, the couple is said to have carried out a number of premeditated acts including making a joint will, and sending letters and emails. A statement was read from Cassie’s sister Jodie detailing how they had both spoken in the past about wanting to end their lives. He later received a letter in the mail from Cassie on September 11, 2021, in which he apologized for not being able to deal with the pain he was going through any longer.
Upon entering her home, Cassie was found lifeless in her bed clutching their three dogs – a chihuahua and two mini pinschers – who had also died. Francis was found dead in the hallway.
“Cassie had said a few years ago that if anyone was going to kill themselves they would kill the dogs and they didn’t want anyone else to take care of them,” Jodie said, reported by the Mirror.
The dogs were described as their ‘kids’ because Cassie was in so much pain she was unable to have children. Jodie said Cassie had previously spoken of not being able to live with the pain she was experiencing and that the pending police investigation had left the couple “very low”.
He said: “I think this is the tipping point.”
