Disney has fired 75 people from Pixar, including Angus MacLane and Galyn Susman, who had long tenures at the studio and worked at Lightyear as director and producer, respectively.
In the last few hours, Reuters has exclusively shared the news that Disney has cut 75 Pixar jobs. These include those of several people who worked on Lightyear, one of the studio’s last productions and one that was not very well received at the box office.
These staff cuts at Pixar were held on May 23, and They are part of a plan that Bob Iger had already announcedthe CEO of Walt Disney, to eliminate a total of 7,000 jobs and cut costs by 5,500 million dollars, combining in Disney Entertainment the film and television groups, and eliminating the division in charge of distribution.

Among the people affected by the disney layoffs Angus MacLane and Galyn Susman were there, two people with long histories in the studio and who had worked at Lightyear as the director and producer of the film, respectively. Galyn Susman He worked at Pixar since his first success, Toy Storyin 1995, and besides was the person who saved Toy Story 2having a copy of the film in his home, after an accident at the studio erased almost all the files on the tape.
As pointed out by Reuters, the dismissal of 75 people at Pixar has marked the first significant job cuts for the animation studio in more than a decade.
