LONDON – One man admits that he hasn’t washed his sheets in over two years. He only decided to do it because his mother came to do it for him.
Many say that dirty bed linen is definitely “disgusting” and “disgusting”, but the man struggles to see the problem with the lack of cleanliness.
The story, told on popular forum Reddit, the man initially sought advice after his girlfriend “flipped” and argued with him for refusing to clean the sheets until his mother did it for him.
The man explains: “For context, I have an apartment that my family gave me two years ago. I currently live with my mother and brother and live there five to six nights a week.”
The man continued: “My family is more traditional and my mother stays home to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and he has not met my parents or been to my parents’ house.”
“I recently had some relatives come and stay, so my mum came over to wash my sheets, vacuum and mop my floors,” he said.
“When I was talking to my boyfriend I mentioned this was the first time I had my sheets washed. My boyfriend flipped and said I am a person who never washes my sheets.”
“It turned into a long argument about how he felt left out from my family and he couldn’t deal with the situation anymore. I was sick and he didn’t understand that I needed more help.”
Seeking advice, the man wrote: “There is another issue my mom doesn’t like that she says hasn’t been resolved. So was I wrong for not washing the sheets?”
