Demon Slayer continues to give its already characteristic combats loaded with spectacular visuals in its third season. However, some fans wonder why the characters of Inosuke and Zenitsu are absent, faithful allies of the protagonist and an essential help in the explosive combats that we saw in the previous Red District Arc. Thanks to them, together with the Pillar of Sound Uzui, a team was formed high enough to face the offensive of the Sixth Upper Moon.
The reason for the absence of both characters is simple: both Inosuke and Zenitsu were forced to carry out different missions while Tanjiro with his inseparable sister Nezuko needed a new sword after the complicated confrontation he had with Gyutaro.
New bow, new Pillars, new enemies and new allies
The absence of these characters is one of the points that make this arc one of the most innovative of what we carry as standard. As already happened in the previous arcs, we have been able to learn more about the past of some Pillars and replacing Zenitsu and Inosuke we have Genya as an improvised ally who has prioritized stopping the invasion in the village over the differences he has with Tanjiro.
With high resistance and ranged attacks Genya becomes a great support for combat
Genya brought several novelties to the series, being a hunter who combines bladed weapons with firearms, as well as having the mysterious ability to regenerate and withstand some attacks considered lethal. Without him, the impromptu group battle that formed between the clones of Hantengu and Tanjiro, Nezuko and Genya himself would have ended very differently, tipping the scales towards the victory of the Upper Fourth Moon.
Both Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira will be back in the next arc of the manga. What we still don’t know is if the beginning of this same arc could be the final touch of the current season or this would focus on exclusively including everything that happens in the Blacksmith Village Arc. At the moment, the spectacular arrival of the Pillar of Love, saving Tanjiro from being defeated by Zohakuten, begins what can be the most intense matchup of the entire season.
