In the aftermath of the draw with Foggia, Crotone is punished with a maxi fine and sports manager Raffaele Vrenna
Last night’s knockout in the return match of the Serie C play-offs at the Ezio Scida stadium against Foggia cost Crotone dearly. Calabresi out of the race for Serie B after 2-2 and harshly sanctioned by the sports judge. Andrea D’Errico disqualified for four rounds, Andrea Dini and Augustus Kargbo for one round and a €3,500 fine for the club. However, the consequences for disrespectful behavior towards the referee also involved the manager Raffaele Vrenna, the latter in the 47th minute of the second half lacked respect towards the referee and with a punch almost broke through the lateral barrier of the own bench. To add to this series of violent acts is his attempted attack on the player of the opposing team Vacca Antonio Junior. The manager was then removed thanks to the intervention of the Digos agents of the Crotone Police Headquarters. A defeat on the pitch does not justify such reactions and this was demonstrated by the measures taken against the Calabrian club by the sporting judge Stefano Palazzi.
