The press conference took place precisely in the aforementioned scenic area of the Guadalajara capital, and the state governor and the head of the Secretariat of Culture (SC) of Jalisco.
Everyone fits in the cinema
In this sense, in the words of Huijara, “with this ceremony, AMACC inaugurates a long-cherished dream of its members: leaving Mexico City, promoting meetings with all those colleagues who make films from very different regions of the country and also with our very different audiences that inhabit them”which means a clear commitment to decentralization, since they wanted to hold the Ariel award ceremony outside of CDMX.
The announcement comes just after the AMACC has left in the past episodes of “financial crisis” that prevented the ceremony from being carried out properly; Thus, the president of the organization said that “thanks also to the entire film community that closed ranks in times of crisis for our Academy.”

Cinematographic art is a community art, and as such, it is due to the communities that gestate and enrich it, cinema is culture and identity, it is a space in which we all fit with our differences”, to conclude with the expression: “Long live Mexican cinema”.

Promotion of cinema in Jalisco
For his part, the state governor celebrated the AMACC’s decision, since it is something that can “to help consolidate Guadalajara as the main point of audiovisual production in Latin America”.
In this context, the governor asserted that “for the first time” this important event leaves Mexico City, and also because the decision made by the AMACC means for Jalisco “a decisive step in a long-term bet, to design public policies and develop infrastructure to accompany the cinema”.
Finally, the president established that although the ceremony will be traveling, Jalisco will be sought as a permanent venue. Likewise, it was announced at this media event that the formal announcement of the list of nominees for the Ariel Award in its 65th edition will be made next Tuesday, June 20.
