There was a line in via Broletto 13, outside the Piaggio Motoplex point, in the center of Milan: many enthusiasts queued up to get an autograph, take a picture, chat with the four official Aprilia riders – Aleix Espargaro, Maverick Vinales, Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez – and with the test driver Lorenzo Savadori and the six-time world champion Max Biaggihighly acclaimed.
An event in view of the Italian GP at Mugello, which the Aprilia riders are tackling with great ambitions: the objective, more or less stated, is try to win. Miguel Oliveira will ride in P1 on Friday to understand his physical conditions after the injury suffered in Jerez: “I’m better, I’ll try on Friday, but I don’t know how it will go”. Miguel is still not right with his shoulder, ten days ago he tried to ride a motorbike at Misano, on the occasion of Aprilia day, but with less than positive results.
The feeling is that he will hardly be able to compete in the GP, but it is right to try, test his conditions in the field. Raul Fernandez will also be back on the RS-GP, while the two factory riders, Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales will face the Italian GP as their home race. “For us it is a special appointment, it is almost as if it were our race”. We asked all the pilots “What is your best memory of Mugello”? Of course, everyone has a special one, but what is striking is how all six riders say: “It’s an incredible track, really special”.
