Alfa Romeo is on the eve of a real metamorphosis, because by 2027 the brand only wants to offer fully electric cars. They are anything but alone in such an ambition, although there is one caveat: Alfa Romeo currently does not have a single EV. So there is a lot of work to be done, starting with an electric, compact crossover… And that this will be an important model, you can already see how the Italians deal with its name.
Italian Jeep Avengers?
For example, rumors have been circulating for years that claim the first Alfa-EV will be called ‘Brennero’, and that seemed only so logical. That name would refer to the Brenner Pass, just as the Tonale and the Stelvio were also named after famous Italian mountain roads. However, Alfa Romeo has now officially announced that it will not be that name after all, but they do not say what they are thinking about. Instead, they open the doors of their social media channels, where creative Alfists themselves can make their proposals known.

Alfa Romeo already knows for sure that the currently unnamed EV will be launched on the market in the first half of 2024, and that it will, as expected, be one step below the Tonale. In other words, count on a purely electric model in the B segment, and it just so happens that mother house Stellantis already has the ideal basis for this. For example, Car of the Year Jeep Avenger plays in the same class, which in turn shares its base with the Peugeot e-2008, Opel Mokka Electric and DS 3. So you can assume that the Alfa comes with similar specifications, And so the main question remains: what will his name be?
