A new report details the main arguments of users who decide to buy an iPhone and leave Android phones behind when deciding which of the two to use.
A new report adds to the list that argues with increasing force the clear tendency towards the iPhone of the new users. Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) has published new research confirming the worrying increase in the number of people abandoning Android compared to recent years.
Last May, and as reported by the research firm CIRP in a report, he explained that there is a clear trend of people increasingly choosing to leave Android for an iPhone.
“In the 12 months ending in March 2023, 15% of iPhone buyers reported switching from an Android phone, while 83% reported sticking with an iPhone,” they commented.
Now he wanted to delve not only in the data but also in attaching an explanation that motivates this trend.
Report details 4 big arguments for switching to iPhone
They explain that the main reason lies in the complaints of many Android users for a malfunction of their smartphone. Taking into account that it is time to buy a new mobile, this is what users are currently looking for and what they happen to find in Apple. To this is added:
New mobile functions: according to the research firm, these users are looking for more functions and, above all, characteristics that are different from those they already had: a better camera, improved accessory options or a more intuitive user interface. The price: the truth is that the price differences that formerly existed between an iPhone and an Android mobile have vanished. Taking this into account, users seem more willing to spend 1,000 euros on a new iPhone than on a Samsung, for example. Community connection: They want a smartphone that integrates with family and friends, including using iMessage and FaceTime on iOS. The more people use iPhone, the need to connect with these people increases.
However, regarding this last point, iMessage is not a big reason why people abandon Android. It is part of the arguments but WhatsApp continues to reign as the top messaging application.
With all this and seeing the graph above, the problems for Google continue to grow. If everything remains the same, it seems that this trend is far from being corrected by the company. It’s clear that Google and all of its OEM partners will need to figure out more of the arguments for why people are leaving Android behind and address those issues almost immediately.
