2023 has started off great both in MotoGP both in Moto2, but in Moto3 the Italian riders struggle a lot, too much. In four races so far, only one podium, that of Andrea Migno, third in Argentina. Let’s not forget that Andrea runs as a replacement for the injured Fellon: he will most likely not be on the track at Mugello. And even if we look to 2022, there is little to be optimistic about: last season, only two Italian riders took first place under the checkered flag: Dennis Foggia4 successes, including the last of one of our pilots in Thailand, and Migno himself. Foggia is now in Moto2, we have already mentioned Andrea.
What is happening to Italian motorcycling? Are there a lack of talented youngsters or do we just have to wait for Rossi, Nepa, Bertelle, Farioli to mature? We ask Paolo Simoncelliwho knows racing very well and everything you do before arriving at the world championship: Paolo is the guest of the 114th episode of #atuttogas.
#atuttogas is back next Sunday: another episode to listen to, even on the main podcast platforms.
