Nevertheless, a criminal investigation into the violent incidents is ongoing. “We take what is going on very seriously,” says mayor Rob Welten. “I ask residents not to be tempted by prejudice or ill-considered behaviour. Share information where it is considered important, but do not contribute to the escalation of problems. That is the best route to a return to peace in our village.”
