Surely you have ever heard that you should not go to vote early. It’s true? Yes, the Electoral Board can choose to force the first voters to make up the electoral table, in the event that the designated ones or their substitutes have not attended, always before 10:00 a.m.
With the 28M elections prepared to be held next week, the term for designation of those who will form the Electoral Table has ended. However, What would happen in the event that neither the president nor vocals were present?
In the normal order of action, the responsibility of being the president of the table would fall on the citizen selected as the first member or, failing that, on the second member and in descending order to their substitutes or on the substitutes presented.
It is a remote situation, unlikely, and yet foreseen. It has already happened in some schools in past electoral processes.
If at 8:00 in the morning neither the designated nor their substitutes have appeared, the Electoral Board can make the decision to force the first voters to show up to vote to be part of from the polling station. In other words, the myth of the empty polling station is completely true.
However, these voters would have to meet the criteria of being literate and under 70 years of age in the case of opting for members and having a Bachelor’s degree or Second Degree Vocational Training, or secondarily, a School Graduate or equivalent to replace the president.
If none of the options mentioned above is possible and the table has not been constituted before 10:00 a.m. On March 28, the people present at the polling station or the Government Authority must communicate the situation to the Zone Electoral Board.
Consequently, the Electoral Board will call new elections within two days and new appointments will be made to constitute the polling station on a regular basis. The functions of members and president would be the same as in the previous election.
Allowances and work permits for those selected
In the event that the Central Electoral Board designates a voter to be part of the Electoral Table before 10:00 in the morning, this would go on to receive the diet and obtain a work permit, in the event that you have to work that day, in addition to a reduction in working hours the following day.
It is important to remember that Failure to comply with the obligation to go to the Electoral Table assigned and not justifying the absence can result in financial sanctions ranging from 6 to 24 months, and even in more serious cases, prison terms of three months to one year could be imposed.
