Over the past generation, Microsoft and Sony released revisions to their consoles: Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, respectively. With the Xbox Series X and PS5 slowly but surely approaching their third year on the market, it’s time to wonder if they’ll get a hardware upgrade in the next few months or years.
Indeed, in recent months we have seen numerous rumors of the existence of supposedly more powerful versions of the next-gen platforms from Microsoft and Sony. Until now there is no official information, so everything remains in the realm of speculation.
However, it is far from unreasonable that more powerful models of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will hit the market at some point in the current generation. Now, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, weighed in on this topic in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz and raised more expectations.

Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick thinks the PS5 and Xbox Series X upgraded versions are real
At one point in the conversation, the executive was asked about the possibility of seeing the improved versions of the PS5 and Xbox Series X at some point in the current generation of consoles, to which he replied that “we will probably see them.” He also stated that the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro “didn’t affect the business much” of Take-Two.
Of course, Strauss Zelnick’s statements do not confirm that the supposed new consoles from Microsoft and Sony are real.
In early May, journalist and insider Tom Henderson revealed in a report that the PlayStation 5 is supposedly real and some internal Sony studios are already using the development kit. In any case, we recommend taking this information with reservations and waiting for an official announcement.
But tell us, do you think the improved versions of the PS5 and Xbox Series X are necessary? Let us read you in the comments.
