GARUT VOICE – Muhaimin Iskandar, chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), made a friendly visit to the residence of Hamzah Haz, the 9th former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia on Thursday, 11/05/2023.
According to Gus Muhaimin, Muhaimin Iskandar’s nickname, the meeting was aimed at seeking advice and learning from Hamzah Haz’s political experience.
“Pak Hamzah Haz’s experience as an NU fighter, political fighter, reached parliament and eventually became vice president,” he said.
During his visit, Gus Muhaimin admitted that many things were discussed, including how to become president.

“Alhamdulillah, I was given prayers, struggles and ways,” he said.
According to him, the vice president has done a lot of services, accompanying presidents, which we must respect and have high appreciation for his struggles.
“Second, yes, we have to learn a lot, get input, who knows, if we don’t become president, we will become vice president,”
He also, continued Gus Muhaimin, provided advice, input and entrusted to fight for the interests of the Nahdlatul Ulama jam’iyah.
“One of the things he entrusted to me, is that NU’s struggle in politics is very, very noble and it must be carried out in earnest, namely to build a civilized and morally good Muslim society, a prosperous Indonesia,” he said.
