Although the leading actor already commented that this film was going to have great anime influencesuntil the digital version has arrived we have not been able to see better what have been the main scenes that have been inspired by the most famous Japanese works of recent times.
We talk of course Creed IIIthe third installment of the saga starring Michael B. Jordan that has dazzled all boxing fans. Although the two previous films were far from this very particular genre, this last part has been full of tributes to the most famous fights in anime.
Thanks to GameSpotwe have been able to see in the same video the animes to which the film has paid tribute:
Dragon Ball Z and Narutowith the simultaneous punch between the two fighters on the ring
Hajime no Ippowith a couple of exciting scenes where the trainer talks to Creed and the hook to Jonathan Majors’ character Ander’s punch to Creed like Goku’s to Frieza that leaves him almost immobile in pain The emotional and physical duel between Ander and Creed that resembles the fight in the void between Obito and Kakashi
There are probably more winks throughout the film that allude to other works, both western and eastern, but the ones that stand out above average happen during the final fight between Creed and Ander. It seems that little by little the industry anime makes its way through Hollywoodso we hope that we will see more references of this genre in upcoming blockbusters.
