VOICE OF SEMARANG – The landscape of Indonesian football will begin a significant transformation under the leadership of Erick Thohir as Chairman of PSSI.
With a strong determination to improve the achievements of Indonesian football, Erick Thohir has started a series of concrete steps aimed at ushering in a new era of progress.
One of the main initiatives carried out by Erick Thohir is a program to repair 22 stadiums throughout Indonesia.
This transformative project is supported by a budget of IDR 1.9 trillion which reflects Erick Thohir’s steadfast commitment to upgrading football infrastructure to international standards.

By modernizing these stadiums, Thohir aims to create a conducive environment for the growth and development of football in the country.
Additionally, Erick Thohir has turned his attention to women’s soccer, realizing its enormous potential to excel on the Asian and world stage.
To cultivate female football talent, Thohir has started a special training program led by a renowned Japanese coach.
Inspired by the success of Japanese women’s football which led her national team to win the World Cup, Thohir is sure that the Japanese coach will bring invaluable expertise and instill a winning tradition among Indonesian women players.
In addition to working with Japan, Erick Thohir collaborated with the German Football Association (DFB) to support the development of the Indonesian youth national team.

Notably, the Bundesliga has a lot of Asian players, with around 170 players hailing from the region.
Although Thohir has not disclosed the specific names involved, he confirmed that the PSSI Technical Director in the future will be from Germany, emphasizing the importance of acquiring German football expertise to improve the performance of the national team.
