The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 is getting closer and gamers are dying to see some of the upcoming exclusives coming in the coming months. Given the proximity of the event, some fans of the brand recalled that Avalanche Studios is working on an exclusive for the Xbox ecosystem: Contraband.
The title was revealed at E3 2021 with a short trailer that left more questions than answers. So many players are hoping to see him at the next event; however, a source hinted that he will be one of the big absentees from the show. This is because, supposedly, he suffered an internal delay and it will take longer to arrive.

Contraband would take longer than expected to debut
Since last year there has been talk of a Contraband delay, as reliable sources assured that the game was scheduled for 2022, but that in the end it would not be possible. So many gamers expect to see at least one new trailer for the game sometime this year.
However, the news could take longer than expected to arrive. Insider Colteastwood recently claimed that the game suffered from an internal delay, so it’s best not to expect any information on it any time soon.
On the GameOnDaily podcast (via GamingBolt), the insider claimed that Avalanche Studios needs another full year to work on their project. Because of this, many doubt its appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase, but there are also gamers hoping that the studio will give at least a brief update on the project.
Now, it is important to clarify that the information comes from an unofficial source, so we recommend that you take the report as a simple rumor. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait another year to know or enjoy Contraband.
According to various sources, the gameplay of the title will be based on vehicle combat and heist planning. Avalanche Studios has not confirmed these mechanics, as it has not yet revealed gameplay of its project.
